Étude descriptive observationnelle du contenu des trousses d'urgence dans les cabinets de médecine générale de l'agglomération grenobloise

Abstract : Background: To deal with emergencies, general practitioners (GP) use diagnostic equipment and medecine stored in their emergency kits. Disparities among emergency kits led to this question : “Does the content of emergency kits of general practitioners in the grenoble area allow them to respond to medical emergencies in primary care?” Objective: This study aims to draw up an inventory of the content of emergency kits on a representative sample of general practitioners of the Grenoble area. Methods: This descriptive, quantitative and observational study of the content of emergency kits of general practitioners of the Grenoble area, conducted between March and April 2016, was based on a questionnaire completed by the GP at their place of work. The data were analyzed with the r2web software based on the open source software R. Results: The turnout was 66.7%. Two doctors out of thirty-one, 6.5% [95% CI 0 to 15.2], had an emergency kit containing the following 10 drugs: ceftriaxone, adrenaline, nitrates, short acting beta-2 agonists, injection BZD, NSAIDs, aspirin, loop diuretics, IV corticosteroids and LMWH. Conclusion : It was shown that the majority of emergency kits were incomplete according to the criteria used in this study.
