Le rôle des églises de réveil dans le parcours migratoire : étude de cas auprès de la communauté kino-congolaise à Rennes

Abstract : This research, conducted as part of a first-yearmaster’sthesis in the laboratory Migrinter, focuses on the role of Afro-Caribbean Pentecostal churches in the migratory path of the people of the kino-Congolese community in France. Based on anthropological studies about these religious assemblies and the data collected during the field research in Rennes, this research attempts to define the influence of revivalist churches on the geographical trajectories and social status of migrants. Through discourse analysis pastors and faithful of five different churches, this study tries to issue general trends on the contribution of evangelical Protestant churches in the lives of migrants. These religious structures appear as important places of socialization and assistance for kino-Congolese community in Rennes. However, forms of collective and individual domination are noticeable within these spaces.
