La résidentialisation des grands ensembles peut-elle apporter une solution au sentiment d'insécurité des quartiers sensibles ?

Abstract : Large housing developments are provoking feeling of insecurity. That’s why they are considered as disadvantaged district. Dark places, used for drug trafficking, create fear to passer-by. The situation goes on since years despite several rehabilitations. With residentialisation, lessors try to reduce behaviours that are provoking feeling of insecurity. Their goal is to recreate more classical uses in these buildings. Thanks to self-monitoring, crime prevention, and living condition improvement, management team try to act. This study is based on examples of residentialisation done in Paris area, since the last twelve years. It tries to identify positive points for the security of these disadvantaged districts. Limit, using of plants, flow management, are part of the points dealt. The link with public space is also treated and seems to be essential to result to some answer elements.
