Musique et production d’écrit en cycle 1 : développer l’imaginaire à travers l’écoute musicale

Abstract : This research is based on active listening of music, on adult writing dictation and on the development of fantasy of preschool pupils. This study aims at assessing to what extent listening to music can enrich fantasy narratives and can stimulate preschool pupils’ imagination. The experiment is set on two main parts. The first part is based on language and emotions without any music. At the end of this sequence, the children have to draw and tell a story based on the theme of sadness. The result will then be used as a diagnostic assessement. In the second part, the children have to listen to the music and then have to draw and tell a story while listening to „la valse des fleurs“ from the ballet, „the Nutcracker“ by Tchaïkovski. The results show that listening to music has enabled the children to enrich their writing productions, but has not in the end influenced fantasy in stories so much.
