Les sages-femmes dans le dépistage des violences conjugales : état des lieux des pratiques en Auvergne

Abstract : Background : In France it is estimated that 10% of women are victims of violence from their partner. For too long, considered a private problem, too intimate, the consequences on women's health are not harmless, both physically, mentally as well as the obstetrical prognosis. Pregnancy is a time promoting or aggravating the violence, 3-8% of women are concerned. Primarily, the victims of domestic violence confide mainly in health professionals. Study design : The study was done with the midwives of Auvergne, the primary objective was the screening and modalities of domestic violence, a questionnaire was sent out to those taking part. Results : The results demonstrate that the midwives are regularly confronted by women who are victims of violence (nearly 85.6% have already been faced with these situations) This has also helped identify the problems met by professionals. Very few midwives (17.4%) carry out a systematic screening, the majority prefer detection Discussion: through physical and psychological evidence of patients. It was demonstrated that the sector of activity could influence the screening type: the liberal midwives have easier access to systematic screening. The means of transmission and management were also analysed.
