Repérage des difficultés d’adaptation à la pratique intensive du sport chez l’adolescent de classe sportive (DAPIS Ado)

Abstract : Introduction: The psychopathology of the teenager confronted with the intensive practice of sport is a current topic. With early sports specialization, growing media coverage and development of sports classes to reach high-level, adolescents must earlier and earlier adjust to psychological pressure. The French law supervising the psychological follow-up of high level sportsmen or attending high level sports classes recommends a psychological assessment twice a year for minors. To date, there is no multidimensional screening tool specific to the teenage sportsmen. The aim of our work is the preparation of a questionnaire in order to identify the difficulties occurring while adapting to the intensive practice of sport among teenagers from the 8th grade to the 12th grade (DAPIS Ado). Methods: A review of the literature identified 80 tools for screening disorders related to eating behaviours, psychological states, shapes and overtraining, substance use and social relationships. A steering committee has sorted and reformulated the different items, allowing the development of a prototype questionnaire submitted to the opinion of a panel of experts according to the Delphi method. Results: Twenty-eight experts were solicited with a response rate of 89 to 100% according to the iteration. The prototype questionnaire consisted of 56 items organized in 5 themes: body/eating behavior, substance use, state of form/overtraining, psychological state and social relationships. After 3 iterations, 49 items were validated. Conclusion: This work allowed the development of a questionnaire designed to identify difficulties occurring while adapting to the intensive practice of sport among teenagers from the 8th grade to the 12th grade (DAPIS Ado). It is intended for the use of the general practitioner and the sports doctor. It has yet to be validated and computerized before use.
