Méthode quantitative utilisée dans les thèses portant sur les soins de santé primaires : étude rétrospective en Aquitaine sur 10 ans

Abstract : Introduction : among the different quantitative methods available for their research work regarding primary care, which choices general medicine student made on the last 10 years in Aquitaine ? Is statistical analysis frequent ? Does the student gets help from a third-party for analysis ? Does the thesis director influent that choice ? Methods : transversal study of the whole data collected from APOGÉE from 2006 to 2016. Eligibility regarding successive sorting of titles then summaries. Integral texts red for statistical analysis investigation. Comparative analysis of the results, search for links between results, third-party resort and thesis director category. Results : 1179 thesis were included, 606 (51,40%) regarding primary care, of which 375 (61,88%) had a quantitative method, 162 (40,20%) a qualitative method and 28 (4,62%) a mixed method. Primary care thesis proportion has increased by 19% on 10 years. Quantitative versus qualitative methods ratio seems to be stable. Most frequent typologies were transversal studies (26,80%), cohorts (18,36%), practice surveys (7,94%), before-after observational studies (6,70%), structured individual interviews (6,70%), 162 (40,20%) disclosed a statistical analysis, 40 (24,69%) disclosed a complex statistical analysis. Resort to a third-party for statistical analysis has no link with the thesis director. A teaching hospital thesis director would influence statistical analysis elements presence in the summary. Discussion : students require specific educational background for primary care, this trend is likely to regularly increase. Bordeaux General medicine department dispose of leads for students teaching and promote research. Method typology should undergo a consensus.
