Évaluation de la perméabilisation après désobturation endodontique d'un ciment minéral par une technique combinée : séquence rotative et laser diode

Abstract : There is only little information on the available methods to regain apical patency in root canals filled with a bio ceramic sealer, and the available studies present conflicting results. A pertinent device may be the diode laser, which a general practitioner can use. Our study compared the results on the sealer removal with rotating files alone, or combined with laser irradiation. We did so by recording the procedure time (3 minutes longer with the laser), and the rate of regained patency (45% for both groups). The laser technique did not prove superior for the sealer removal, though it tended to show better results for the apical third. Applied research about the interactions between laser and filling materials would be required to conclude on the efficiency of the laser device.
