Accompagner jusqu’au bout : comment et pourquoi être psychomotricien en unité de soins palliatifs ?

Abstract : In palliative care unit, the person with a progressive or terminal illness is facing serious physical, psychological, social and spiritual changes. By these modifications, the body is no longer a stable benchmark and the subject is reached in his identity. Psychocorporeal disorders can be increased by fear of death. In this context, the psychometrician can intervene. He will have to face his own feelings towards the end of life in order to adopt a specific posture that will allow him to be attentive to each patient in its entirety. Thanks to the therapeutic framework, evaluations and psycho-physical mediations, the psychomotrician will be able to carry the patient by promoting the use of body, spatial and temporal references. Through his commitment and his adaptability, the therapist will try to bring wellness to the sick person.
