Face aux processus de stérilisation urbains, quelles solutions s'offrent au paysagiste pour rendre les rues plus animée ? Cas de deux communes d'Indre-et-Loire

Abstract : When we walk in a street deserted by its inhabitants and where the car is queen, we are entitled to ask ourselves about our mode of inhabiting the city. This thesis focuses on identifying the factors that threaten street activities and jeopardize the social, commercial and functional role of the street. To compensate for these threats, the landscape architect can suggest ways of thinking, going beyond the scope of the urban planner and the architect. First of all, integrating modal sharing that favors active travel is a priority. Then, the appropriation of the street by the inhabitants is essential to express its sociability. To do this, the embellishment by the plant of the frontage, space of transition between the private and public sphere, constitutes a privileged action. By making workshops of plantations with the inhabitants, the street becomes fertile and animated. While some factors are now limiting the widespread use of these actions, street animation is emerging as one of the major challenges facing the city of tomorrow.
