Abstract : Drug resistance is a major problem for patients with epilepsy. In today' society, the research for the well-being became essential. Now, the stigmatization bound to the epilepsy and the psychosocial repercussions are very important and affect profoundly the quality of life of the epileptic patients. A review of literature of the experimental data regarding herbal medicine, aromatherapy and nutrition applied to the epilepsy has been performed. It allowed to highlight that those alternative medicines are not strictly forbidden by use at the epileptic patients. Biofeedback is a technique discovered in the 60's. At the border of neurophysiology and psychology, it is at the origin of promising results due to its positive effects on the improvement of the quality of life in epilepsy. Biofeedback and the alternative medicines which are the object of this study can be envisaged in the epilepsy and underline the importance of return towards a holistic approach of the disease.
