Le développement de l’autonomie des élèves de moyenne section à l’école maternelle

Abstract : After examining and analysing the institutional framework of the nursery school and the Common core of knowledge and skills, we found that the autonomous workshops remained in the focus of attention of the Official Recommendations. We then tried to define the term autonomy and the different types of activities to which it applies. Being autonomous means that you no longer need an adult. We sought the recommendations proposed by various pedagogues, psychologists and researchers, all of whom gave their opinion on the arrangement of the class of students’ autonomy: Piaget, Bruner, Vygotsky, Meirieu… It was therefore important to highlight these concepts in the practice observed in the classes during our internships. We opted for a qualitative research method, (in the view of the very limited number of students observed), and we interviewed the teacher through a questionnaire that we developed and then analysed. It is evident that our hypotheses concerning the workshops guided by the primary school teacher make it possible to develop significantly the pupils’ autonomy of the medium section in the nursery school without ignoring the necessary individual aids.
