Demande esthétique en dentisterie : quelle limite entre une demande normale et une demande pathologique ?

Abstract : Nowadays, cosmetic dentistry is explosing. Patients, more and more concerned about their appearance, are often hiding an important psychological and emotional dimension behind their request, which is not always reasoned. It is important for practitioners to identify these high risk patients, because they cause useless, long and expensive treatments, which can result in legal disputes for practitioners. Indeed, these patients will always be unsatisfied with the result, or they will move their point of focus to another body section. During their school education, dentists are relatively little informed about the means to detect these patients. It is interesting to test a questionnaire, based on few questions, which can help practitioners to quickly detect this kind of patients, before starting the treatment.
