Étude d'un programme d'éducation thérapeutique de patients atteints de maladies chroniques et en situation de précarité : étude qualitative avec recueil auprès des professionnels de santé

Abstract : Introduction: the therapeutic patient education (TPE) is an expanding sector in a world where chronic diseases are increasing. A TPE program has been created in 2013, from the joint efforts of 4 associations in Paris-Nord (URACA, Réseau Paris Diabète, Espace 19 and SOS Habitat et Soins) and aims to take care of people with chronic diseases in precarious situation. In this study, we will take a look at the implication of the promoters of each association in order to make the program lasting and achievable. Method: our data was collected from healthcare professionals involved in four associations in Paris-Nord, from December 2014 to June 2015. A questioning guide was submitted to them, then a data analysis was performed according to a VERBATIM Transcription with manual coding. Results: the interdisciplinary work within the associations is an important element for the program's durability. For professionals involved in the program, the trainings must be intensified in order to homogenize the TPE practices. The diversification of collaborators is an asset of this program and could be an area of improvement for TPE programs in general. The participation of general practitioners as well as the program coordination could both be intensified. Conclusion: the improvement of the TPE is an essential work in order to make the patient both aware of his responsibilities and a stakeholder of his disease. The interdisciplinary collaboration between several associations is possible given the study's results that seem promising for the mutual achievement of TPE workshops between other associations.
