Insertion d’un BHNS dans un site contraint

Abstract : The municipalities of Versailles and Chesnay intended to create a line of specific site public transport within their city center. Our study concerns the configuration of the public road network within the city center of Chesnay on this project. This section of 460 meters length presents multiple constraints as for example the relatively narrow distance between the facades (16 to 19 meters) which must welcome multiples flows : traffic, pedestrians, the parking places and our specific site public transportation (bus lane, bus stations, etc.). We think that it is possible and advantageous to recommend an axial crossable bus lane with alternated directions and with bus stations fitted out with high platforms accessible for disabled peoples, as well as with a double direction traffic, bilateral car park in a 30 speed zone and with widened sidewalks where the pedestrian spaces are revalued. This way, our line of high level service becomes integrated into the environment and into the challenges that this environment creates. The high buses traffic which has been projected will bring important constraints of the sizing of the road. This matter is essentially translated by an aggressive and channelled traffic, as well as by the necessity of obtaining a good resistance to the pavement rutting and a good resistance to the road wear.
