Vers la modernisation des guides de randonnée : exemple de la vallée du Fangu (Haute-Corse)

Abstract : For a few years, we are witnessing a major boom of outdoor activities, especially hiking, which now gathers several sport activities (trekking, trail running, orienteering...) and various discovery activities (themed guided hiking, output naturalist, interpretive trails...). It is noted that the most of these activities have the same information media : the hiking guide. Through a multi-criteria analysis of existing guides, we can see that, in its current unsuited form, the guide only partially meets the basic requirements of hikers and does not satisfy the specific needs of publics who are diversifying, too. Therefore, it becomes important to modernize the hiking guide, great ecotourism catalyst within a territory. Various improvement strategies are proposed to achieve an adaptive, interactive (through open data), and easily managed and updated media. Moreover, the study shows the necessary combination of the « paper » and « digital » formats until then opposed, and suggests the intake of a markup system based on the « land art » to guide the hiker on the field. At last, an example of implementation of a modernized hiking guide in the « Vallée du Fangu », specifies the various stages of development of such a guide, particularly the making of the requirements specification.
