Dramatiques de la rupture : Ernesto De Martino, subjectivité et histoire

Abstract : The work of the ethnologist, philosopher and historian of religions Ernesto de Martino challenges us with a powerful attainment for the activation of subjectivity. Through a thematization of the temporality of crisis and of the mythical-ritualistic institution, his reflection appears capable of redefining both the modalities for the emergence of history and the boundaries of kantian transcendental philosophy. De Martino’s conceptualization cannot be dissociated from the diagnostics that he devises after his investigations on the ground; on the contrary, empirical reality never ceases to amaze his thought by means of its irregularities and its grey areas.
