Les TICE : outils pour gérer l'hétérogénéité

Abstract : For the last few years, the implementation and usage of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) have spread at school in the hope of transforming education. This technology can play a major role in one of the main challenges schools have to face like how to teach heterogeneous classes. Indeed, this phenomenon started in the 1970s when schools began to be available to everybody and ever since classes have been made up of very different students having various levels and coming from all social origins. Then, the experiment will determine the impact of ICT when used in heterogeneous groups. Two groups will take part in this 2-week experiment during which students will be tested on two activities: exercises to meet their needs (grammar, vocabulary, contents) and a collaborative writing workshop. Those activities are exactly the same for the two groups except that one will use ICT and the other will use paper. The results compare the grades students got for the two writing final tasks carried out before and after the experiment. After analysing the results, ICT is eventually more a teaching evolution than a revolution because its impact is limited and it cannot provide full answers to our education challenges like heterogeneity.
