Usage thérapeutique du cannabis en France : cas particulier du Sativex®

Abstract : Cannabis is known since Antiquity for his therapeutic properties. The compounds of the plant, cannabinoids, act on our body through an endogenous system. In addition to the psychotropic effects, mainly due to Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol or Δ9-THC, cannabinoids have analgesic, antispastic, antiemetic, (...) properties and stimulate the appetite. Today, they are exploited in different countries through the use of drugs derived from cannabis. Although the use of Δ9-THC was possible in France in therapy for several years, only recently have legislation banning all transactions involving this plant was changed. Thus, the use of cannabis derivatives specialties is possible if it has a marketing authorization. This is the case of the Sativex® since July 2013, in connection with moderate to severe spasticity due to multiple sclerosis. But today, it’s still not available.
