Mortalité précoce dans la leucémie aiguë promyélocytaire (LAP) en France : étude multicentrique portant sur 399 patients

Abstract : In recent trials in newly diagnosed APL, the CR rate ranged from 90 to 95%, whereas early death (ED) rate was as high as 15 to 30% when non protocol patients (pts) were analyzed. We retrospectively assessed the incidence of ED in APL in 17 french centers between December 2006 and December 2011 in 399 pts included or not in APL 2006 trial. Intervals between first blood count, hospital admission and ATRA onset were assessed. 68.7% of pts were included in the trial. 362 (90.4%) achieved CR. ED was seen in 2.5% of pts included in the trial and 17% of non protocol pts (p < 0.0001). Median interval from admission to ATRA onset was less than one day; no significant difference was found for the intervals analyzed between pts included and not included in the trial. The overall ED rate (9%) in our study appears inferior to those published in several recent studies.
