Attitudes et modalités de vaccination des médecins généralistes en période d’hésitation vaccinale et de pénuries persistantes de vaccins. Étude qualitative

Abstract : Whereas vaccination is one of the most revolutionnary medical invention, there is some vaccine hesitancy among people and also among some general practionners. This issue is enhanced by vaccine supply shortage. General practioners (GP) are the cornerstones of prevention in general but also of vaccination in particuliar. This study research aims to explore perception, attitudes and how the physicians cope with vaccine hesitancy. In order to understand GPs’ behaviours, we carried out a qualitative research based on semi-directed interviews of 16 GPs. These discussions were recorded and then transcripted manually. The findings show that overall, the feeling towards vaccinations and health autorities is positive among GPs. It highlights an issue with two vaccines: human papillomavirus and influenza vaccines. Opinions towards compulsory vaccination are quite divided. Besides, consultation about vaccination are found to be challenging and complicated, even more in the context of supply shortage. Moreover, how they cope is very diversified. Help from sanitary authorites are very needed, they need to address a better communication and some support and tools to the GPs.
