Comment les médecins généralistes français s’informent-ils sur la vaccination

Abstract : Objective: one of the intervention axes of the vaccinal politics renovation plan consists in insuring a better information of the doctors. We have examined the GPs’ access to the vaccination information. Method: prospective descriptive study realized by an auto-administered on-line questionnaire, from June until September, 2016, sent to french liberal general practitioners. Results: more than sixty percent (60,4 %) over 2433 doctors sought for information concerning the vaccination, 58,8 % during the consultation, and for 3,2 minutes on average. The research obstacles were the lack of time and the misunderstanding of sources. Three main subjects investigated were: the traveling patient’s vaccination, the vaccinal calendar and the remedial vaccination. Three main employed sources were the BEH, the website of InVS and the website of the Pasteur institute. The doctors trusted in the governmental sources and the specialized sites. These sources did not answer all their questions, particularly concerning the remedial vaccination. The training program on vaccination seems to led to a more frequent research, to a facilitated research and to a better level of knowledge on vaccination from GPs. Almost sixty six percent (65,8 %) doctors approved an on-line CDSS as an information tool. The French website mesvaccins.net offers this type of support system, but it is not well-known and few used by the doctors. Conclusion: in order to get GPs more informed on vaccination, a CDSS’s source, fast, exhaustive and available during consultation is needed. A training program on seeking information would be also needed.
