Connaissances des patients du CDAG de Saint-Denis de la Réunion à propos de l'hépatite B, de la syphilis et des chlamydioses uro-génitales

Abstract : This study concerned the knowledge of the patients about the hepatitis B, chlamydioses and syphilis. 168 auto-questionnaires were collected between 22/4 and 25/9/2014 in St Denis's anonymous and free screening unit. Our population is mainly young and has varied sociodemographic characteristics (age, sex, place of birth, place of house, level of study, occupations, diploma, family situation). According to the disease, the vaginal relationships are considered as divested of risk of transmission by 17 to 29 % of the patients, the sodomy in 37 in 49 % of the cases. The condom is considered as protector in 61 in 82 % of the cases and the reduction of the number of partners in 38 in 43 % of the cases. 50 to 70 % of the respondents think that these STDs are always symptomatics. The short and long-term consequences are badly known. 39 to 49 % of the patients think of having taken the risks about these STDs. We did not highlight differences of answers according to the sociodemographic profiles. These results are bad and comparable to what was described in the medical literature. It is necessary to strengthen the information of the population concerning the STDs.
