Le rôle de l’ergothérapeute dans l’acceptation d’une aide à la communication auprès de personnes atteintes de Sclérose Latérale Amyotrophique (SLA)

Abstract : Background: The amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is the most common acquired neuromuscular disease among adults. It mostly causes communication disorders. Because of its rapidly process, there are difficulties of acceptance of technical aids from the people.How does OT encourage acceptance of communication aids (CA) with person with ALS? Method : To respond at this question, a quantitative method was chosen. A survey using 37 questions was distributed to OT who had already put CA with this population. I analysed 40 responses. Results : Ot’s often useda holistic approachduring the choice of CA. Implication of informal caregiver is primordial. Then thetesting were performed an ecological environment. Conclusion : The implementation of CA is frequent but with many various practices. So, it would seem appropriate to continue scientific research in this area in order to create efficient instrument to facilitate the preconisation of CA by OT.
