Le black rot en Vaucluse : modélisation de la dynamique de la maladie et essai sur la gestion raisonnée en agriculture biologique et conventionnelle

Abstract : Guignardia bidwellii is a fungal plant pathogen that causes black rot on grapevine. The fungus is native from North America, it appeared in France at the end of the 19th century. It is able to infect all green expanding tissues, becoming a threat to both yield and wine quality. The expansion of the fungus depends on weather conditions. A decision support system was established with weather data, and then tested during 4 years, from 2014 to 2017. It allows to estimate the relative sensitivity of grape clusters, to determine the occurrence and severity of infection events as well as the duration of incubation periods. Model precision, sensitivity and accuracy were on average 67%, 88.8% and 88.8%. A second trial was set in order to develop effective spray timing in organic and conventional viticulture. Between flowering and bunch closure, berries are more sensible to infections. The trials show that spray between bunch closure and ripening does not provide a better control of black rot on grape. In conventional agriculture, in case of a few wet years, it is not necessary to begin the fungicide applications at budburst, but rather before flowering. In organic viticulture, copper and sulfur are less efficient than fungicides used in conventional agriculture. Spraying at budburst allows a better control of black rot on grape.
