Préparation à la naissance et à la parentalité : incidence sur le choix d’une position d’accouchement pendant la grossesse : étude réalisée au centre hospitalier de Romans-sur-Isère

Abstract : Introduction : The general objectives of antenatal classes, defined by the French Health Authority in 2005, do not precisely mention the notion of delivery position. However, at this time, it is recommended to encourage women to prepare a birth plan that includes a determined delivery position. We asked ourselves about the impact antenatal classes can have on the choice of a delivery position. Methods : A retrospective, monocentric cohort study was conducted in a level IIA maternity clinic in the Drôme department. Surveys were completed from Audipog records and from patients hospitalised after childbirth. Results : The impact of antenatal classes on women's choice of delivery position during pregnancy could not be demonstrated. Discussion : Emphasis should be placed on the development of a birth plan by couples, and on the training of midwives in different delivery positions. Conclusion : Antenatal classes must enable the couple to assert themselves as protagonists of the birth of their child.
