Survenue d'un syndrome de Tako-Tsubo dans un centre médico-éducatif

Abstract : Objective: Takotsubo syndrome is also referred to as stress cardiomyopathy and typically occurs in women age 55 and older. Our study describes a takotsubo syndrome that occurred following a physical and verbal aggression. Methods: We report a case of a 56-year-old female community educator who suffered chest pain 48 hours after being violently victimized at work. During hospitalization she received an ECG, echocardiography, coronary angiography and a cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. Results: Examinations confirmed the diagnosis of takotsubo. Conclusion: There is an increase in violent attacks towards staff in health care sector, and this case underscores the need for preventative measures against such violence.
