Le confluent et le Port Rambaud à Lyon, d'une histoire industrielle à un renouveau patrimonial

Abstract : The Rambaud Harbor is a former industrial district in the south of the city center of Lyon, completely rehabilitated from 2003. It’s in this study to understand the history of the place to better understand its evolution over time, and especially its slow decline since the 1980s. The study of places, through documentary and archival collections, but also by topographic survey work, will capture the complexity of the events that led the former Rambaud Harbor to become that it is today : one of the most famous districts of the city, modern and with undeniable architectural audacity. Through political, architectural, economic, as well as cultural filters, this dissertation will offer an analysis of memory objects, original or artificial, installed on the spot by many different actors and various factors. This multi-disciplinary research work around the understanding and analysis of industrial memory, facing the challenges of urban planning and urban renewal operations.
