Proposition d'outils pour la réalisation des consultations pédiatriques systématiques de 0 à 6 ans : étude qualitative auprès des pédiatres et des généralistes du Vaucluse

Abstract : Introduction: The increasing scarcity of ambulatory paediatrics leads general practitioners to see more and more children. Systematic appointments are meant to discover anomalies and to quickly take care of them. General practitioners do not seem to be sufficiently trained for this activity. Studies have shown a diversity of practices. Few of them are bringing solutions. The aim is to bring out the tools that can help general practitioners to carry out follow-up appointments for children between 0 and 6 in order to propose a standardisation. Materials and Methods: A qualitative analysis was realized in Vaucluse with 10 paediatricians and 12 general practitioners, from March 2017 to January 2018. Semi-structured individual interviews were held with the paediatricians and then with the general practitioners. The themes were identical: organisation of systematic appointments, perception of the general practitioner by the paediatricians, opinion about the care system. The analysis was made with the software N’Vivo 11. Results: Five points have been brought out to make the follow-up work of general practitioners easier: improving knowledge through different means, organizing the consulting room to give children confidence, reinforcing multidisciplinarity, having at their disposal appropriate tools such as the Sensory Baby kit, knowing the missions that are to be accomplished during these appointments. Some general practitioners suggest that the current care should be reversed to let them be the first in line for the realization of the follow-up. Conclusion: The systematic appointments are an opportunity to do preventive and screening work. The study managed to establish the theoretical needs of general practitioners in terms of material and human resources. A feasibility study would have to be considered in order to know if the application of these recommendations is possible.
