L'accompagnement émotionnel des interruptions médicales de grossesse

Abstract : In recent years significant progress has been made in the field of antenatal diagnosis. At the same time the number of Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) continues to increase. Pluri-disciplinary antenatal diagnosis centres (PDADC) have the task of establishing the "particular gravity" of the fetal pathology and thus allowing parents to make a decision about the future of their child in a free and informed way. From the announcement to the diagnosis to the decision and the birth, MTP represents a test that no parent could imagine going through; each stage of the process is a major mental challenge. With the help of literature, this study has begun to understand these challenges. The purpose of this work was to identify the needs of couples during these different phases and then define the place of the midwife. Finally, find ways to improve the emotional support and care of MTP. The methodological approach was to create a grid of bibliographic resources and to establish an individual document of each elements. The bibliography has a total of 17 articles and 10 books. This work has highlighted five major stages: the announcement, the diagnosis, the decision, the wait and the MTP itself. Each phase has its special needs that midwives and the rest of the medical team can respond to in a suitable way. Surrounding and supporting parents to be an actor of this birth-death is the delicate mission that midwifes and doctors delivers during this delicate process. The emotional support set up at each stage will play a role in antenatal bereavement by using the personal resources of the couple.
