L'influence du biotype gingival sur les chirurgies implantaires

Abstract : The advent of implant therapeutics makes it possible to treat cases of plural or unit edentulousness by proposing fixed solutions while keeping the adjacent teeth. The implant solution is a major asset and represents a reliable and aesthetic solution. Soft tissues seem to play a major role in the aesthetic and functional integration of implant therapy and more specifically the gingival biotype. The influence of the gingival biotype on natural dentition has already been demonstrated in the literature, with many articles showing that a thick biotype is a preferred biotype to reduce the risk of gingival recessions as well as to obtain optimal surgical and prosthetic results. The influence of the gingival biotype is therefore very important on the natural dentition. The aim of this thesis is to study the effects of the gingival biotype on implant surgery and on the success of implant therapy. To begin we will define the gingival biotype and the way to show it in the clinical examination. Then we will describe the different implant surgeries as well as the influence of the biotype on the surgeries and results. And finally, we will discuss ways to preserve or reconstruct peri-implant tissue and bone volumes at different points in implant therapy.
