Évaluation multicritère de la durabilité de trois systèmes de culture innovants en grande culture dans un contexte Breton

Abstract : The issues of modern agriculture are varied: protect the environment without degrading farm’s economy or farmer’s work conditions. Brittany, the first French agricultural region, is very sensible of the environmental issues. Some programs to improve the water quality have lead to an enhancement thanks to the spread of practices more respectful. This study, part of the program “Ecophyto”, evaluate the sustainability of three innovative crop systems (CS) (organic and integrated), compared with a standard CS of conventional agriculture in Brittany. The study is based on the multicriteria analysis tool MASC and is about the inter-plot and inter-annual variability of the contribution to sustainability of each CS, and about theire capacity to be more sustainable than the reference. Results show grades variations between each repetition of a CS, indicating the importance to have long term study. No clear inter-annual improvement has been observed, contrary to what was supposed. Finally, the three CS studied contribute more to sustainability than the reference CS. However, the two integrated CS don’t improve notably the environmental dimension. Other agricultural practices have to be planned in the purpose to improve the impact of the agriculture on the environment.
