Caractérisation de la diversité de l’agriculture d’un territoire littoral : la Presqu’île de Rhuys

Abstract : « Parchemins » project studies Breton coastline farming’s issues. The Rhuys Peninsula’s study field is characterized by an inflow of tourists and residents as well as the proximity of an urban area. This touristic and peri-urban context leads to specifics issues for farming. This leads to wondering how the Rhuys Peninsula’s farming is specific and how it is shaped by tourism and urbanization. Some responses are provided by agricultural surveys which leaded to the characterization of the farming system’s diversity on the Peninsula compared to some inland towns. The characterization criteria have been selected in order to test an analytical frameword developed by Therond et al.(2017), which describes biotechnical functioning and territorial embeddedness of the farming systems. Through a factor analysis, those criteria highlighted the farming systems’ diversity. Tourism and urbanization generate constraints but offers opportunities to diversify the farming activities (agritourism, local saling). Politic and associative actors lead the Peninsula’s farming to an ecologization and a production’s relocation, which are eased by the context. The analysis might be completed by surveys on peri-urban and inland zones, and refined by human and social sciences.
