Évaluation des habitudes des chirurgiens-dentistes de Nouvelle Aquitaine dans la prévention et le dépistage des dysmorphoses et des malocclusions

Abstract : The main goal of this study was to evaluate the attention and involvement of dentists in the prevention, detection and interception of the primary orthopedic and orthodontic disorders. The second goal was to evaluate what could be the obstacles to their practice. It is based on a survey submitted to New Aquitaine dentists and distributed via social networks and the French Medical Boards who accepted to transmit it. After collecting and analyzing the answers of 114 dentists, this study shows that the majority of them have the right attitude for intercepting and preventing dysmorphias and that there's only a minority of dentists do nothing. So, the study highlights a sufficient involvement in their practice. The main obstacles to their practice are due to a lack of information during their training, a lack of time but especially to a lack of valorization of pedodontics interventions.
