La fabrication additive en odontologie : applications et perspectives

Abstract : The purpose of this work is to present the applications and the outlook for additive manufacturing in odontology. In order to facilitate understanding and to introduce the entire digital process prior to the manufacturing stage, the first part provides some semantic and historical context regarding dental CAD/CAM systems. On this basis, seven technologies grouped under the term of additive manufacturing are described in view of their functioning and the materials which can be used. Finally, through a number of examples and clinical situations we illustrate the applications and outlook for additive manufacturing in odontology. This last part of the synthesis allows us to demonstrate not only the undeniable contribution of additive manufacturing in various clinical areas of odontology, but also the uncertainties and limitations with respect to some of these applications.
