Évaluation des pratiques de prise en charge de la colique néphrétique aux urgences du CHU de Caen en 2017

Abstract : Introduction: renal colic is a commmon presentation seen in emergency departement. Actual medical recommandations say that an ultrasonography or a CT scan have to be perform according to the medical presentation. Patient’s and emergency unit’s interest are to prefer ultrasonography as much as possible. Methods: this study is a retrospective study about medical care in the university hospital center of Caen about patient prensenting renal colic in 2017. Primary objective is to measure the application of french medical recommandation about the prescription of radiological examination. Secondary objectives are the prescription of painkillers, lenght of stay in the emergency yard and hospitalisation rate. Results: 401 cases were included. Radiological imagery were perform in the emercy yard in 67.9%, and after being discharged of the emergency yard in 30.1%. French recommandations were correctly applied in 71.3%. Waiting time in the emergency department was significantly shorter when imagery was realised after being discharge (Average 8.02 hours if imagery realised in the emergency department, 4.68 hours if imagery realised after being discharged, p<0.0001). 80.9% of patient recieved NSAID. 10.2% of the patients were hospialized. Conclusion: actual recommandations are applied for the majority of patients. An improvement is possible to decrease waiting time and streamline patient flow.
