Le tourisme durable dans le Parc National des Calanques

Abstract : The National Park of the Calanques, created in 2012, is the 1st National Park peri-urban of Europe, land and sea. Located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, it is in the heart of the metropolis of Aix-Marseille-Provence. It is a protected natural space with remarkable landscapes, remaining one of the jewels of the French natural and cultural heritage. As such, the main missions of the Park are to work for the protection and preservation of the environment, information and public awareness. Thanks to these natural resources, this territory is very attractive and the tourist traffic consists of both national and international visitors. Promotion and marketing centred on development and sustainable tourism are therefore essential to make this space as sustainable as possible concerning economic, environmental and socio-cultural aspects. The Park must aim to consider both environmental and economic issues as well as the new brand "Esprit Parc National" to be able to contribute to its objectives. But the Park is not the only actor involved, it is a complex system of actors that directly or indirectly influence and impact the Park. So, how can we integrate this system of actors into the sustainable development and sustainable tourism of the Park ? A field-oriented methodology has been favoured to truly understand the chosen territory, in order to answer these questions.
