Une place à part ? Positionnement du psychomotricien dans une équipe pluridisciplinaire au sein d'un service de rhumatologie

Abstract : Care given in rheumatology departments in hospitals focuses mainly on treating the body. This approach is in keeping with an understanding of humans as made of segmented parts, which pervades hospitals and our medical culture in general. In this context, psychomotor therapy provides an original holistic view. Its specific character results in a particular identity and positioning which can be uncomfortable to defend. This dissertation intends to compare the perspectives of caregivers and patients on the profession. It examines whether these viewpoints may be reconciled with the psychomotor therapist's own perception, so that the latter can build a legitimate place for himself in care teams. In this respect, the author proposes three possibilities, namely communicating, being rigorous and working with ethics, for our relevance and uniqueness to be better acknowledged.
