Engagement dans la tâche et travail de la prosodie en classe de langue. Enjeux de la mise en voix de textes poétiques au lycée

Abstract : The teaching of foreign languages has evolved through time from one that was heavily based on text comprehension, translation or production to one that gives far more importance to oral comprehension and production. In the past couple of decades, it has been shown that prosody can be a source of misunderstanding just as much as grammar or lexis are. It is thus important to integrate that dimension in modern teaching and see how this can be done and measure the effects of different methods, including digital tools. Poetry is at the crossroads between music and litterature and is an ideal context in which to approach the analysis and practice of prosody in english language teaching, through task-based learning. Pupils have proven to be receptive overall to this method though some aspects such as word and verb stress are quite complex and demand a more long-term strategy.
