La démarche éducative pendant la grossesse

Abstract : In midwifery, health education consists in preparing for childbirth and parenthood. The goals of this paper were to conduct a survey on the organisation of the education, and to evaluate its impact, using the Kirkpatrick model.
This was a prospective, mixed and multicenter study conducted between August 2017 and February 2018. The sample was 41 primiparous healthy women during the last training session in antenatal period, and one to three months after childbirth.
The results show that the organisation differs from one woman to another. Nevertheless, whatever the methods chosen by the future mothers, the educational program has met their needs. The study also shows that midwives have a central role in the program, as do relatives. Finally, the educational programs seem to have had a beneficial impact, both in terms of acquiring knowledge and practical skills, as well as in passing on a message of prevention. The areas of improvement of the program seem to be to offer the training to relatives as well and to set up sessions during postpartum.
