IRM orbitaire : lecture systématique dans l'analyse des exophtalmies d'origine non traumatique

Abstract : Purpose: To propose a reliable and reproductible method to analyze the various magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequences and to approach the diagnosis of an orbital lesion. Methods: Review of the literature on articles that have described magnetic resonance images of major orbital lesions. Results: 45 articles were examined. From the MRI signals described for each of the orbital tumors as well as from our professional experience, a standardized and reproductible method could be proposed in the form of a decision algorithm. Conclusions: Some lesions remain of indeterminate diagnosis despite the application of this decision algorithm. However, this method most often allows differentiation on the malignant or benign nature of a lesion, a major notion for the clinician in the decision of the therapeutic strategy.
