Abstract : Introduction: cannabis is the third psychoactive substance (PPS) consumed in France. Its use has increased in recent years in France among workers, and questions about the risks that this may cause in terms of performance of organizations and workplace safety, but also on the possible links of causality between work and cannabis use. On the other hand, few studies have focused on the perception of cannabis workers in the workplace. It seemed relevant to study the perception of users and non-users of the impact of cannabis on their workplaces. Materials and methods: this is a descriptive multicenter survey by anonymous self-questionnaires arranged in 5 general practice in the department Var France practices from August to October 2017 including workers aged 18 to 65 consulting in a general practice. Results: The study included 312 participants, with a participation rate of 97%. Nearly one-third of participants reported being concerned about cannabis in their workplaces and feeling at risk, with significantly greater concern among non-smokers. More than a quarter of all cannabis users attributed all or part of their consumption to their work, stress being the most cited reason. The main effects sought were then relaxation, a help for sleep and a de-stressing effect. Cannabis use had negative effects on work for 29.5% of consumers. The main effects described were lack of motivation and difficulties of concentration and memorization. Conclusion: Cannabis use in the workplace is a problem that does not concern only cannabis smokers, and can be a source of psychosocial risk. The development of collective information actions for all workers is to be promoted, especially for those in safety-sensitive positions. Improved knowledge of the link between cannabis use and work would lead to better individual management of cannabis smokers.
