Prise en charge au cabinet dentaire des maladies neurodégénératives : Alzheimer et Parkinson

Abstract : French population, like in all Western countries, lives longer and longer due to advances of medicine and to the improvement of living conditions. However, this aging is accompanied by NeuroDegenerative Diseases (NDD) : the most common are Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and Parkinson's Disease (PD). These two pathologies, because of their semiology and their treatments, have repercussions on the oral cavity and on the dental care. The interest of this work is to allow the dentist to treat the patients with NDD as well as possible. After describing the clinical features of AD and PD, the oral manifestations and treatment challenges associated with NDD will be addressed. Finally, will be described how to behave in front of different progression stages of the NDD according to different odontological disciplines.
