Normalisation en langue française de la bank of standardized stimuli (BOSS) : élaboration d’une épreuve de dénomination orale d’images

Abstract : The bank of standardized stimuli (BOSS) is a collection of color stimuli standardized in several languages and used in the field of research. No French-language standards have yet been published. The aim of this work was to standardize 162 photographs to develop a new visual oral naming test. The standardization was made up of the name agreement, visual complexity and familiarity. The population consisted of 54 participants. According to current findings, we expected to obtain, in particular, an effect of visual complexity and familiarity on the naming time and an effect of the gender on the type of answers obtained. The results confirmed all of our hypothesizes except the gender theory. There was no difference between men and women on the type of answers obtained. The final test consisted of 54 items collected following a 95% name agreement, a low degree of visual complexity, and a high familiarity score. Subsequently, standardization and validation with patients could be considered.
