Coordination des soins des patients dépressifs : perceptions croisées entre psychiatres et médecins généralistes

Abstract : Context : The general practitioner is the first professional consulted during mental health symptoms. However, two out of three general practitioners said that they are unsatisfied with the cooperation with specialized professionals. The objectives of the study were to compare the perceptions of the cooperation in the depression care between general practitioners and psychiatrists, to highlight the obstacles to effective cooperation as well as ways to overcome these obstacles. Method : Qualitative study by semi-directed interviews with general practitioners and psychiatrists from Isère. IPA thematic analysis of the 2 subgroups by 2 investigators and comparison of the results. Results : 7 general practitioners and 7 psychiatrists were included. The study explored the current situation of care coordination and its obstacles in four spheres: perceptions of the role and practices of the concerned, communication and sending to the specialist. The limitations of psychiatrists were not perceived by general practitioners. An insufficient care supply, a lack of trust and communication between the interviewees were highlighted. Discussion : The results of the study are consistent with the literature review. Several ways for improvement appear to overcome the obstacles highlighted, such as more frequent meetings, trainings and local interdisciplinary projects and the development of digital tools. The "ma santé 2022" law project seems to meet these expectations of health professionals.
