The manducatory system is in constant relationship with many other anatomical regions. Many studies have investigated the relationship between the temporomandibular joint and posture. Like vision, it plays a role in people standing positions. Thus, any dysfunction of these systems will cause posturologic disorders. However, the links between the masticatory apparatus and vision, even if they are important and engaging, have attracted less interest. We know that these two systems are close, both anatomically and nervously. This literature review allowed us to show the correlations between temporomandibular joint disorders and occlusion disorders, and vision disorders. In the future, dentists, ophthalmologists and orthoptists should be increasingly aware of this correlation to improve diagnosis and treatment.
