Bactéries persistantes : vers un nouvel angle d’attaque dans la thérapeutique antimicrobienne ?

Abstract : The term of "persisters" has been used for the first time in the early 1940s to qualify sub-populations of bacterial phenotypic variants that are able to survive to many stresses such as antibiotics, oxidative stress or a sudden variation of pH or temperature. With the notion of persisters, appeared the idea that most of the antibotics are not efficient to sterilize completely a bacterial culture. That’s why many therapeutic strategies arose to find a way to fully eradicate these bacterial persisters cells.
