Le langage oral en maternelle

Abstract : This essay is a collective work. We are three infant school teachers. We reported several common problems in our classes, that's why we decided to focus on these points. To young children (aged 3 and 4) this is the first contact with education. They come at school with their own way of talking. Some are not able to speak french yet. So teachers face difficulties about instructing the spoken language. According to students schooling means learning a new language which can be different from the one they use with friends or family. At the very beginning of school year it was a challenge to communicate with them. But as a matter of fact we have to talk to be understood and that's why the language is the most important thing to learn at school. Furthermore it is a first tool for building critical mind. Nethertheless there are many issues about language as socialization and relationship between children or between children and adults. Thus we asked ourselves several questions like : are allophone children more disabled in their learning ? Yet the leading question we kept is : why does acquisition of oral language is necessary for children socialization ?
