En quoi le jeu peut-il amener les élèves à une meilleure compréhension des savoirs mathématiques ainsi qu’à un développement de compétences transversales ?

Abstract : In this research-based dissertation, we look at mathematics taught in the form of games. In fact, this discipline is not always highly prized which it why it is of interest to try to find a working method which will enable pupils to participate fully in mathematical activities. This research is focused on two aspects of game playing. First of all, game playing could allow struggling pupils to obtain a better understanding of mathematical concepts thanks to the play aspect and the motivation that this generates in pupils. Then, for more able pupils, games could form part of the development of cross-disciplinary skills. After having applied a diagnostic assessment which will allow each of the pupils to be ranked, the experiment presented in this dissertation will help us to determine whether games can have an impact on the assimilation of mathematical knowledge as well as on the development of research abilities.
