Rôles et missions du pharmacien d’officine dans la pratique du sport en compétition : point de vue de l’entraîneur

Abstract : The pharmacist remains a major player for the entire population thanks to its uniform distribution on the French territory. During this research, we tried to determine if the pharmacist remained a reference for a specific population: sports coaches. A survey was conducted among athletes coaches competing in order to know their point of view on the place of the pharmacist in this environment. It revealed that they were not the first health professionals coaches would go to for information on performance-enhancing substances, supplementation and sports-related injuries. Nevertheless, this study showed that coaches do not close the door to pharmacists for possible training on the topics listed earlier. From the perspective of an evolution of the profession, it will then have to train more or even specialize to meet the expectations of the various protagonists. It turns out that strong knowledge and skills will win the confidence of coaches and thus actively intervene in the sports field.
